Gravity Retaining Wall Protects Waterfront Property
Along the Stillwater River in Dayton, Ohio, MaxumStone blocks delivered a strong, long-lasting solution and natural stone look for the stunning Stillwater River Lodge. Using MaxumStone blocks from local producer Oberfields LLC, the experts at FSR Landscaping designed the wall and stair treads built with cap units. Their team also installed all of the precast units, placing them in front of an aging masonry wall to extend the raised patio and green space along the top tier of this riverbank restoration project.
Precast Concrete Block Solutions for Flood Protection & Erosion Management
This unique terraced backyard design gives guests the ultimate relaxation area. The MaxumStone gravity retaining wall reaches a maximum height of 1.52 m. and stretches 69 m. along the beautiful riverside property. The hollow core blocks are backfilled with crush gravel for extra mass and to enhance drainage and better protect the wall in the event of high rising seasonal waters.
Easing Riverfront Access with Cap Unit Steps
The blocks and cap units supplied by JB Mulch & Pavers added an elegant finish atop the wall. The caps serve as steps to the raised patio and to the river where guests can launch canoes, kayaks and standup paddleboards.
